Washington Monument - Millennium Exhibit

The Washington Monument experienced a refurbishment from 1999-2000. While it was out of commission the National Park Service wanted to install a temporary gallery. The gallery was located at the foot of the monument and incorporated interpretive and interactive exhibits that detailed the rich history of the monument. The experience allowed the visitors to enjoy a virtual view from the top of the monument, while it was under renovation The exhibit was visited by over one million people in a fourteen month period. M. Catton and Co. was not only involved in the exhibit development and fabrication but also were responsible for the interior fit-out. The logistics associated with working with the National Park Service on the mall in DC was as challenging endeavor as can be imagined in our industry. The results were very successful.
